Far-east style with a spirit of wild west

I love Lama Dawa Rinpoche's perspective on Santa Claus and our Christmas traditions - he feels that Santa is none other than Vaisravana, (Namtose) the Northern Direction King, who is known as the god of wealth in Asia, surrounded by his retinue of yakshas (dwarves), and living in the northernmost realm. Offerings used to be placed at trees associated with Vaisravana in hopes that he would grant wishes and bestow wealth (now we make offerings to Santa of cookies and milk). The Christmas Tree is the 'Wishfulfill Tree,' and Santa's seed syllable is 'HO.'

А вообще индусы очень милые.
Ты когда обратно в наши холодные края?
У индусов тоже видела рассуждение Санта Клаус = Кубера. А чо? Живет на севере, раздает подарки, имеет свиту
и в свите опять безобидные уродцы.
